nearly 50 years, KPFK and the Pacifica Foundation have been
broadcasting news, information and analysis founded upon a mission
statement which to this day remains unique in radio broadcasting.
Listener sponsored and free of commercial influence, KPFK and Pacifica
helped pave the way for a non-commercial media movement that was
instrumental in the development of this country’s crusades for
peace and social justice. It was Pacifica who laid the foundation for
the Public Radio industry we have today. It was Pacifica who was there
covering those issues and stories others did not want you to hear.
Today, KPFK sets out to build on the next 50 years of unembedded,
